Daylight Saving Time

What is Daylight Saving Time?

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is also known as the Summer Time.
Generally, regions that observe DST will adjust clocks forward by one hour at start of spring, and adjust them backward by one hour in the autumn to Standard Time (also known as Winter Time).

When will DST be observed?

Not all regions will practice DST and not all regions which practice DST will observe it on the same day.

For instance, New York, United States and most of the locations of United States,
DST begins on second Sunday of every March, 02:00 by advancing the clock 1 hour forward to 03:00 at local time;
and ends on first Sunday of every November, 02:00 by reversing the clock backward to 01:00 at local time.

The European regions, including but not limited to, London, United Kingdom, Limassol, Cyprus and Frankfurt, Germany,
DST begins on last Sunday of every March, 02:00 by advancing the clock 1 hour forward to 03:00 at local time;
and ends on last Sunday of every October, 02:00 by reversing the clock backward to 01:00 at local time.

Will TriumphFX MetaTrader 4 Trade Server timezone changes when DST clock changes?

TriumphFX MetaTrader 4 Trade Server will always use the UTC timezone, and is not affected by DST clock changes.
That means trading hours will change!

How would DST affect trading hours?

Since not all regions will observe DST on the same day while our Trader's Room 's and MetaTrader 4 Trade Server will always use UTC timezone, therefore trading hours at your local time might change. Market may appears to start 1 hour early or 1 hour late depends on your location during which the DST clock changes.

If you are trading using Expert Advisor (EA), you may also need to consult your EA vendor or provider whether adjustment is necessary.
You may also point your EA vendor or provider to this page so they have an idea how transition will take place in TriumphFX for DST clock changes.
